Inside Symptra

Four jobs.
One app.

Most GLP-1 users juggle three apps for their shot, their food, and how they feel. Symptra does all of it, and shows you the connections.

Shots

Shot tracker that remembers.

Body map for site rotation, pen-click dose calculator, smart reminders synced to your cycle.

Symptoms

Log how you feel in 10 seconds.

Rate nausea 1–10, tap suspected triggers, capture mood, energy and food noise, even when you feel awful.

Food

A food diary, not a calorie cage.

No calorie counting. Just categories, BRAT-safe flags, and quick entry in three taps.

Insights

The patterns nobody else shows you.

After two weeks Symptra tells you which foods triggered nausea and when your cycle peaks.

Correlation insights

Spot patterns
nobody else can see.

Other apps track your data. Symptra tells you what it means. Log two weeks of food, shots and symptoms. Then watch the connections surface.

Medication cycle chart

Fried food → nausea within 4 hours, in 8 of your last 10 cycles.

Days 2–3 post-injection consistently bring higher symptom scores than the rest of your cycle.

Skipping meals correlates with worse nausea, even on rest days.

Real-time guidance

Feeling sick
right now?

Skip the WebMD spiral. Symptra reads your recent activity and tells you what's most likely going on.

Real-time guidance
1

Surfaces your last few hours. What you ate, when you injected, when you last slept.

2

Checks the basics first. Empty stomach worsens nausea on GLP-1. Sometimes the fix is one cracker.

3

Suggests what worked before. BRAT-friendly options from your own history, not generic articles.

Questions

Frequently asked.

What does Symptra cost?

Symptra is a paid app with a free try-out window. After onboarding, you get a free RevenueCat-managed paywall where you can subscribe or skip for now. If you skip, you still keep access to your insights dashboard, the article library, your profile, and a free hydration quick-add button. Logging your shot, your weight, your food, your symptoms, plus the full history charts and the PDF doctor report all live behind the subscription. Final pricing is set in-app and may vary by region and by promotion.

Which GLP-1 medications does Symptra support?

All ten major GLP-1 medications, both injectable and oral. Weekly injections: Ozempic (semaglutide), Wegovy (semaglutide), Mounjaro (tirzepatide), Zepbound (tirzepatide), Trulicity (dulaglutide). Daily injections: Saxenda (liraglutide), Victoza (liraglutide). Daily pills: Rybelsus (oral semaglutide), the Wegovy Pill (oral semaglutide), and Orforglipron. Each drug has its own pharmacokinetic curve, so the in-app medication-level chart reflects the right half-life for what you actually take.

Does Symptra work for daily and oral GLP-1s, not just weekly shots?

Yes. The app detects whether you're on a daily medication (Saxenda, Victoza, Rybelsus, Wegovy Pill, Orforglipron) and adapts the UI: no "days since injection" countdown, no "medication wearing off" messages, no post-injection recovery tips. For oral semaglutide you get a fasting-window timer (the 30-minute rule), an empty-stomach reminder, and adherence-focused tips instead of cycle-based ones.

Do I need to create an account or hand over my email?

No. Symptra has no sign-up form, no email field, no password. You open the app, go through a quick onboarding (medication, dose, weight, goals), and start logging. Your subscription is handled by the App Store or Google Play, not by us. Your health data is stored on-device.

What can I actually track in Symptra?

Nine streams of data, all in one app: your shots or daily pills (with body-map site rotation for injectables), weight and body measurements (waist, hips, chest), hydration, protein, meals with check-in windows, nausea, food noise, mood and energy. Each one has a quick-add from any screen via the central plus button, plus a full history view with charts and a period selector.

Does Symptra count calories?

No. We don't count calories, and we think you probably shouldn't either while you're on a GLP-1. The medication already does the appetite work. Counting on top of that is usually how people slide into under-eating, lose muscle faster, and burn out on the whole thing. Food tracking in Symptra has two levels and you choose how deep to go. Level 1, just check in. Open the meal window for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack and tap "I ate". That's it. No products, no portions, no numbers. The app counts it as a checked-in meal so you keep the rhythm of regular eating, which matters on GLP-1 because skipping meals tends to make nausea worse. Level 2, log what you ate. Tap into a meal window and add specific foods through Meal Hub (category, item, cooking method, portion). This is what powers the pattern detection later, like "fried foods triggered nausea 4 of the last 5 times" or "your protein dropped 30g this week". Both levels feed the same charts. The only thing you'll see a number for is protein, because muscle preservation is the one nutrition target that matters most on a GLP-1.

How long until Symptra shows me useful patterns?

Most people start seeing useful correlations after about two weeks of consistent logging. Cycle-level patterns (peak nausea days, food noise rhythms, post-injection mood dips) typically appear after three or four cycles. During the first week your Insights screen is filled with onboarding cards and educational tips, so it never looks empty while the data builds up.

Does Symptra give medical advice?

No. Symptra surfaces patterns in your own data and shares general wellness information. Every tip uses humble phrasing ("many people find", "some users report") and points you back to your prescriber for decisions about dose, switches, or stopping. The first thing you see after install is a disclaimer card you have to acknowledge.

Will it sync with Apple Health or Health Connect?

Yes, both. Symptra reads and writes weight and waist circumference to Apple Health on iOS and to Health Connect on Android, with a 90-day backfill on first sync. Hip and chest measurements stay manual. You can toggle the sync off in Settings at any time.

Can I export my logs to share with my doctor?

Yes. The Doctor Report screen builds a PDF for any date range you pick. You choose which sections to include (weight, body measurements, medication log, nausea, mood and energy, protein, hydration, meal consistency, food noise) so you control what you share. The PDF export is part of the subscription.

Appix is a tiny team that builds mobile apps from the ground up. Flutter when speed matters, Kotlin and Swift when it has to feel native. We blend traditional craft with AI-assisted development, which means faster iteration and more time on the details that make an app feel right.
